| Flue Gas Dry Scrubbing
The SWENSON Flue Gas Dry Scrubbing System (FGD) is designed to remove sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride and other contaminants from flue gas. The FGD system consists of an alkali (Na or Ca) feed preparation, spray dryer, and dry collector (fabric filter or electrostatic precipitator). Alkali feed is atomized by means of a two-fluid nozzle or centrifugal atomizer. Collection efficiencies of up to 99% on HCl and over 70% on SO2 can be achieved. Ammonium Sulfate Processing Plant Crystals formed by cooling concentrated ammonium sulfate solution in a SWENSON DTB crystallizer are centrifuged and passed through a SWENSON co-current direct heat rotary dryer. Ammonium sulfate containing 2-5% moisture is screw fed into the dryer; anhydrous ammonium sulfate containing 0.1% or less moisture is discharged at 200oF. Hot gases (390 to 700oF) are produced by the air heater. Vent gases enter a fabric filter or wet scrubber where any dust is removed. |
