SWENSON DRYING EQUIPMENTFounded in 1889 by the chemical engineering pioneer Magnus Swenson, (1854-1936), SWENSON has been associated with innovation and quality in process equipment design and manufacturing. SWENSON is located in Monee, Illinois. Around the world, literally thousands of evaporators, crystallizers, dryers and other process equipment bear the SWENSON name. They represent decades of SWENSON engineering experience throughout the chemical processing industry, a record of achievement equaled by none. The SWENSON line of drying equipment is unsurpassed. SWENSON is the only manufacturer which supplies parallel-flow and mixed-flow spray dryers, rotary and fluid bed dryers and coolers and suspension dryers.

This extensive equipment
line has provided SWENSON engineers and technicians with
expert solutions for a wide variety of drying problems.
The wide variety of drying requirements encountered over
the years has allowed SWENSON engineers to make numerous
important advances in drying technolgy. It is an enviable
track record that can go to work for you now.SWENSON DRYER TEST CENTERSWENSON has long recognized the customer's need for product testing. The information available through testing is crucial to the success of the ultimate full-scale production application. Using firsthand dryer test results obtained in the SWENSON Test Center, SWENSON engineers can assist customers in making knowledgeable decisions about drying techniques and recommend the appropriate, full-scale production equipment. The SWENSON Test Center, located in Harvey, Illinois, is a completely equipped laboratory able to pretest, in either production or pilot operations, virtually any product. Swenson has tested more than 700 different products over the past forty years.

Laboratory fluid bed dryer In addition to crystallization and evaporation testing equipment, the test center maintains a variety of dryers exclusively for testing purposes. These include a steam tube dryer, a fluid bed dryer, a suspension (flash) dryer, a mixed-flow spray dryer, a parallel-flow spray dryer, and a rotary air swept dryer. All are fabricated from T-304 stainless steel and utilize steam-heated air or combustion products as the drying medium. The rotary dryer is operable in either the parallel current or countercurrent mode. Each test is conducted by highly trained, experienced technicians under the supervision of SWENSON design engineers. Test results reveal important product drying characteristics, summarized in terms of particle size, moisture content, flowability, solubility, color and operating parameters. Tests are conducted so that the laboratory process will duplicate the commercial process as closely as possible for customer evaluation. Custom drying of material is possible on a limited scale. The facilities of the SWENSON Test Center are available to our customers for this purpose. |
